1. Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend
Even though they were a last-year band for me, I got the album for my birthday! Also I saw them twice this year, so.
2. Neon Neon - Stainless Style
The Easter album. Seeing 'them' live at the end of October was one of the gig highlighs of the year for me. Still can't listen to the album just once.
3. Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes
I can listen to this album over and over and over, because it's just so freaking amazing. Yes, I said 'freaking.'
4. Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago
It was a grower, just like Fleet Foxes, but wins for sounding just like what it is. I would holiday in this album. I'd say live in it, but it would be too sad.
5. Frightened Rabbit - The Midnight Organ Flight
So very Scottish. Such a good album, amazing band.
6. British Sea Power - Do You Like Rock Music?
Yes. Yes I very much do! Oddly, the midway point between the first two albums.
7. Cold War Kids - Loyalty to Loyalty
Not as instantly catchy as their first album, but filled with magic all the same.
8. Elliott Brood - Mountain Meadows
A late entry for this year, but so very worth it. I could listen to this over and over. I probably will.
9. Panic at the Disco - Pretty. Odd.
Listening to it now, it's definitely a spring album. It still makes me really happy, even now. So, it gets on the list.
10. Fall Out Boy - Folie a Deux
I love this album. Some songs more than others, but as an oeuvre, I think it's absolutely magic.
Cobra Starship - Viva la Cobra
Properly fell in love with this album this year, so even though it was released last year, I'd call it a this-year album. Plus I got to see them four times this year. Magic.
Girl Talk
The mere existence of which makes me happy. No particular album, per se. THANK YOU JEN.
The Hold Steady - Stay Positive
Really solidly GOOD album, but when I'm not listening to them I tend to forget they're there. Whoops.
Rolling Stones - Hot Rocks
Obviously not a new album! But good god, I have loved that album this year!
What about the rest of you? What did you find that was any good this year?
